My last english report

Tere everybody,

It’s not easy to write about my last time, not because anything wrong happened; the reason is, because I am at home. My second day at home and Estonia seems so far back. And I really miss it, it was a good day… äh no, I mean, it was a good time. ;-) And I’ve done a lot of new things in my last family. But from beginning away:
I travelled again by bus to Tartu, where Jannika picked me up. To first we gone at home and I saw my place for the next time and I meet my new family. With Priit, my Hostfather, was possible to talk german, but I ever spoke English, or better said: I tried speak English. For the next week I spend my time with another IFYE too. Sarah was (or is) from Colorado and I notice that I have to learn much English yet.

In the first time we visited different places, like Tartu, a Natural Park and the region around our house. And I began with working. Transporting hay or picking berries, and then we began to built a fence. Priit and Jannika have near 50 sheep, and they are very cheeky. They went out and go to other fields for eating, and so we had to stop them. The work was easy, but hard, cause the sun shined and it was hot. But in the evening, when you look at your work, you feel very well.

So, we worked and made a lot of sightseeing. Priit was a building master from some ships, which were built in Tartu, and we had a trip on a handmade bark. Our next destination was in Piusa. There was in old time a digging place for white sand, which they used to make glass. Now there are sand caves. But the fun was outside, where you can jump out the cliffs and land softly in… sand, of course.

The days ran and the end was coming nearer and nearer. But in this time was my capital weekend. On Saturday the whole family went to Tallinn to the Sea Days. In the harbor were a lot of sailboats, yachts and the biggest four mast ship in the world. And the best: a Viking ship. Handmade in Tartu, what else. We walked on the pier, looked the ship and boats, sailed with one ship, eating dinner on the Viking ship and in the night we sailed with it. Tallinn by night from the sea, an amazing look. And the Viking ship was really comfortable. After a short sleep, I went to a ferry, which bring me to Helsinki. My Hostparents allowed me to visit a friend there. The friend was from my class in Switzerland, not from Finland self. So we were 4 people from Bern and had a good and funny time. And we made a lot of epic pictures.
After that trip we went at home, but without Sarah. On Sunday she had to go to her next family. This called that Priit and I had to finish the fence alone (secret: we haven’t finished yet). The last week has begun, a good week. On the 20. July we celebrated my “golden birthday” and two days later I went to an Estonian wedding. Estonian weddings are a little bit different to Swiss ones and I had a lot of fun. And I could talk again a lot of German and Berngerman. But I think I kissed more people than I talk with. Yes, I drank three (or four) Vodka shots and no, this was not the reason. In Estonian wedding the bride give some jobs. The dance tigers, the flirter, the vine people and the kissers. I had to kiss all women and make a kiss mark of lipstick on their cheek. It was good that no one knew me; in normal case I would be too shy to make such things. And the vodka helped, more than I believe to think. In the last two days I wanted just work, so I can forget my pain about the leaving Estonia. And I learned to drive the Russian tractor, with passenger (a poisoned snake, Priit and me don’t know who of us carried the wood with her inside, scary). And then came the day to leave. I was very sad. O yes, very very sad. And I think, again no one has seen it.
In May my organizater for the flights has writhe me anything from a flight time change in Tallinn. I called there before and all was ok, my flight to Copenhagen too. And there I went to the board with all flights and…. searched my flight to Zürich. That one was in 40 minutes. One my paper I had 2 hours. ??? I run to different check ins, I was confused. Also the self check in hasn’t found me. My flight was gone and I went to my airline, what happened with my flight. Answer: canceled. I had to call my organizater. This one couldn’t do anything. So I bought a new thicket for home and arrived there one hour too late. This was the harmless version in 5 lines. The original version would be 10-15 lines and my nerves were on the edge. I’m a greenhorn at airports. And in such a big airport, and I was running to so much different places…. horrible. But now it’s nothing more than an experience.

And now I’m at home. Nothing has changed, not my home, not my people. And Estonia seems just like a memory, a memory I miss. But at most I miss not Estonia; I miss the people I learned know there. But we will see us again. Sooner than I think.
Head aega
Marc
